In 2017, the Self-Help Desk will be closed on Friday, April 14th (afternoon only); Monday, May 29th; Tuesday, July 4th; Friday, September 1st (afternoon only); 
Monday, September 4th; Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th;  Monday, December 25th through Monday, January 1, 2018.

Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics at the Milwaukee Justice Center    

Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, staffed by volunteer attorneys and law students.  Provides free, confidential, and brief legal advice and referrals for Milwaukee County Circuit Court civil legal matters  We absolutely cannot help with criminal matters.

 

We can assist with:

  • Family Law Matters
  • Landlord/Tenant Law
  • Probate
  • Small Claims
  • Large Claims

Sign in starts at 1:30pm.  This clinic fills up quickly.

Clinic stops taking walk-ins when the sign-in list is full.  Services are on a walk-in basis, and meant to be a brief, one-time consultation.  Attorneys cannot take cases or  provide ongoing legal assistance.  We also cannot see you more than once for the same legal issue.

Appointments (For Divorce Part 2 ONLY - for all other matters, please visit one of the clinics listed above)

In Wisconsin, the divorce process happens in two parts.  If you have completed the first step (including applicable service and parent education requirements), the MJC can help you with the paperwork for the second step of divorce BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
