Please note that the specific locations for benches and waste receptacles are not shown, but they will be included in the final plan. Also, lighting will be placed around the circular path, the curving paths north of the reservoir, and the stairways.

We have gathered comments on the general landscape design as well as the following points:
  • Should Garfield Avenue go through to North Avenue (as currently exists) or should it terminate just east of Booth, similar to Lloyd? Advantages of terminating Garfield include safer pedestrian crossing along North Avenue and increased parkland.
  • Should the pathway that ascends up to and around the circumference of the reservoir be made of asphalt or limestone screenings? Both are considered wheelchair-accessible. Asphalt is more expensive to install but requires less maintenance and can be plowed in winter.
  • Should we arrange for artwork that can be placed on the east side of the reservoir wall to represent the Kilbourn Star? Perhaps work with the Milwaukee Arts Board for this? Are there other suggestions?
  • Is there a strong preference for one of the groupings on the "Amenities Board" for the benches/waste receptacles/bike racks? Should we explore using amenities made from plastic recycled by Milwaukee?

Thanks for your participation and input!

Please note: Healthy trees WILL remain in the park. This sketch was prepared to illustrate how the shape of the hill will change behind the foliage in the proposed plan.
